Information You'll Need to Register for the Umstead 100

Before Registration Day

Ensure that your computer has the correct time. Consult https://time.is.

Umstead 100 staff will be monitoring registration, and will post updates to Facebook and the Umstead100.org web site, as needed.

"Like" us on Facebook to get periodic updates during and after registration.

The Registration Process

Starting at 8pm on September 13, the online registration site will open 60 entry slots every 2 minutes for 6 minutes. After that, the final 10 entry slots will open, plus any remaining unclaimed entries.

You will have 10 minutes to complete the entry form and submit payment. If the registration is not submitted within 10 minutes, the slot will go back into the entry pool.

After the first wave has had 10 minutes to enter their information, the remaining entry slots will open until the registration number hits 250.

Accepted applicants will see a popup message from the web site and receive a confirmation email. We will post a list of registered runners on the website as soon as possible after the Race is full.

Information You'll Need On-Hand to Register for the Umstead 100

• First and last name
• Birth date
• Sex
• Home address: city, state, ZIP code, country
• Home phone / cell phone
• Emergency contact name and phone number (preferably not another participant)
• 100 mile or 50 mile option?
• If you selected the 100 mile race, what is your qualifying race? (name, distance, time)
• Is the Umstead your first 100-mile event?
• What is your 100 mile PR (if applicable)?
• How many total will attend the Friday Night Supper?
  The runner and one crew member are free, but you can pay for additional meals when you pickup your packet.
• Do you want a t-shirt or hat?
  What size t-shirt?
  The hat personalized with your name?
• An additional hat (non-personalized) or race t-shirt for yourself? Size?
• Crew hats (non-personalized) or t-shirts? Sizes.
  These shirts are cotton/unisex.
• Parking (four options):
  1. You don't need parking.
     You are a wonderful person! Be sure to choose this option if you are carpooling with someone else who is choosing a parking option on their entry.
  2. You need to park a car, but it will not move while you are running.
     You may be assigned a space that will only allow for a single exit after you complete your race.
  3. You need to park a car and your crew may move it while you are running.
     By choosing this option, we will assign you to a location where your car is allowed to come and go during the race. These spaces provide the best combination of proximity to the race course and flexibility for your crew.
  4. New for 2024: You need to park a car and you want to set up a canopy closest to the finish line.
     In exchange for parking farther from the finish during the race, you can set up your canopy in a reserved area closest to the finish line. You can still set up a canopy in the other designated areas even if you do not choose this option.
• If you previously registered for the Umstead 100 under a different name, what was it?
  We use this information to consolidate results.
• Would you like to rent a single cot or a cabin?
  These are primitive cabins that do not have power. Showers and latrines are available.
  
  • Single Cot for $15. You'll share a cabin with 1 to 3 other runners of the same sex.
    These are usually used by runners who do not have support or whose support will show up on Saturday.
  • Group Cabin = $30 for 2 people, then $15 per person up to 4 people (depending on the cabin's capacity).
    These are usually used by a runner and their family/crew. Please do not reserve a group cabin for one person.

  Cot and Cabin rental is for Friday and Saturday nights.

After Registration

• The list of successful entrants will be posted on Umstead100.org as soon as possible.
• Online registration for the Second Chance Lottery, Race Volunteer reserved entries, and 500/1000 mile club reserved entries will be via our website www.Umstead100.org, and will open at 12:00am, Saturday September 16, and close at 6:00pm, Saturday, September 23.

• Volunteers/supporters and 500/1000 mile club members should check the applicable entry category on the Second Chance entry form so that you are eligible for the additional entries that we reserve for these groups.
• The registration list on the website will be updated by the end of September 26.
• If you participate in the Second Chance Lottery and are not selected, we'll ask you if you want to be on the wait-list. We won't place you on the wait-list without your approval. You must have participated in the Second Chance Lottery to be placed on the wait-list. Please do not contact the race directors asking to be added to the waitlist - we want to respect the people who followed the registration process
• Updated registration lists will be posted every 4 to 8 weeks.
